The Coal Porters
July 23rd, 7.30pm
Looking like a traditional Bluegrass ensemble with their single microphone and their dapper dark suits, The Coal Porters deliver a live show which is polished yet passionate.
They've been called "The Bluegrass Clash" - lyrically sharp, witty, relevant and instrumentally potent. With Kentuckian writer/broadcaster/mandolin ace Sid Griffin and Scots strummer and shouter Neil Robert Herd selling the songs like they were fairground rides, the CPs will leave you breathless.
Propelled by Dick Smith's demon Banjo, Carly Frey's fiddling frenzy and Andrew Stafford's growling doghouse bass you'll queuing for another turn before your feet have hit the ground.
Tickets: £9 in advance £10 on the door
