Torture -the most brutal and inexplicable example of all human behaviour- has been practised since antiquity to the present day.  Despite international agreement on its prohibition it is still used by aproximately 81 governments.  Freedom from Torture, founded in 1985 has grown from small beginnings to become a major force in healing and rehabilitating victims from all over the world into society.

This fundraising, unticketed event will include an address by Lord Gawain Douglas, The sale of his book of poetry, Fortuna (50% to Alma Books, 50% to the charity) and also musical and literary entertainment.
